Slab Preparation on 4/23/09
Gravel and forms were in place on Thursday. Two sections were prepared for a pour on Friday - adult classrooms and the rotunda.
Adult Classroom Slab 4/24/09
This space will be divided by a partition, making two adult classes when closed and fellowship hall overflow space when open.
Finishing Rotunda Slab on 4/24/09
The rotunda will be a transitioning point from our worship center to the educational building. A colored concrete was poured that will be ground to an almost mirror polish. The rest of the area was prepared for a pour scheduled for Monday.
Pouring Concrete on 4/28/09
After a rainy Monday that delayed work, the slab was completed on Tuesday.
Pumping Concrete
Because of muddy conditions, a pumping truck was brought in to expedite the pour. Without moving the truck, it's boom was able to reach the outer limits of the building and complete the pour by late morning.
Riding trowell for finishing concrete
Two riding trowells were used to give a smooth finish. These two skilled finishers intricately guided their machines through the plumbing and column connections.
Laying out the west wall 5/6/09
The framers, having already pre-cut quite a bit of lumber while waiting for the slab to cure, are busy assembling the walls.

Roof Column Installed 5/14/09
After cutting a big whole in the middle of the fellowship hall (old sanctuary) and roof, the column that will support the roof ridge beam was installed.
Through the Roof 5/14/09
The column extends through the roof to support the Adult class ridge beam. By the end of the day the whole in the roof had a temporary patch.

Gas Main Relocated 5/19/09
Mark Eblen (in the pit) is among those who ran the new gas line under Townline.
Adult Classroom Framing 5/21/09
The walls begin to go up around the 800 sq feet area that will be adult classrooms and fellowship hall overflow.
Old Blue
With windows removed, the old blue color scheme of the old sanctuary is revealed. Wow!
Adult Class Room Decking 6/3/09
With some rain delays the last week of May, the framers completed the adult classroom framing and trusses. A vented decking is being installed because of the vaulted ceiling.
Shingles on the Adult Classrooms 6/4/09

Crane arrives to install roof panels 6/17/09
With the roof trusses in place, installation of the roof panels begins today!
Rotunda Taking Shape 6/17/09
With metal studs in place, the quarter inch plywood in attached to form the rotunda.

These roof panels have insulation sandwiched between plywood. A membrane will cover the roof when completed.
